General Requirements

As the study of philosophy involves reading and discussion of philosophical writings, it is expected to have a good knowledge of German (B1). Furthermore we recommend you taking part in German classes (Deutsch lernen).

Courses/Seminar

In principle, you may participate in all courses of the Institute of Philosophy. However, you should assess for yourself which courses are suitable for you based on your previous philosophical and linguistic knowledge.

Course Catalogue

You find detailed information on classes at the University of Bonn at the online course catalogue (eVV), called BASIS.

Module Handbooks

Most courses belong to modules, which form part of our regular teaching (though the seminar courses on offer in each individual module tend to differ each year). You can find an overview over the modules here:

ECTS-Points

To complete a seminar, you will have to attend seminars in person. More details about how many ECTS points you can earn during your stay at our department you will find here. Please keep this information in mind when creating your Learning Agreement.
